چکیده
Saussure’s refusal to adopt a biological perspective in linguistics and consider the problem of origin language does not imply struggle against natural aspects language. Rather, it derives from awareness that is impossible look at “from outside” if one wants (as Saussure considers obligatory for linguist) drop into speaking subjects. This tendency nature within” has strong philosophical importance.

Semiotics and Computational Linguistics On
Signs, which are the domain of inquiry in semiotics, have a complex ontology. Apart from being used—adequate knowledge provided—by communicators, and recognized as being decomposable into smaller elements and aggregatable to larger structures, they are also meant to be understood. This is a consequence of their manifold identity as compound physical objects with real world extensions in space-t...
متن کاملCan rodents conceive hyperbolic spaces?
The grid cells discovered in the rodent medial entorhinal cortex have been proposed to provide a metric for Euclidean space, possibly even hardwired in the embryo. Yet, one class of models describing the formation of grid unit selectivity is entirely based on developmental self-organization, and as such it predicts that the metric it expresses should reflect the environment to which the animal ...

All knowledge, from the most tentative guess to the most demonstrative certainty, is grounded on evidence; it is supported by data, credentials, warrants, and premises. The data are not them-selves evidence for that to which they attest; they must be interpreted to be evidence, to give some credibility to what they support. David Savan on C.S. متن کاملBrain, language, and linguistics.
During the past quarter of a century, Brain and Language (B & L) has recorded and stimulated research on the biological/neurological basis for human language. As noted in the Whitaker editorial in the first issue of the first volume (Whitaker, 1974), although for centuries scholars of different disciplines had been interested in the question of brain function and cognition, specifically languag...
متن کاملLanguage, Linguistics and Cognition
Experimental research during the last few decades has provided evidence that language is embedded in a mosaic of cognitive functions. An account of how language interfaces with memory, perception, action and control is no longer beyond the scope of linguistics, and can now be seen as part of an explanation of linguistic structure itself. However, although our view of language has changed, lingu...
